ListenUp Slow to Load the First Time

The first time a page is requested that contains the ListenUp applet, the page takes a long time to complete, about 7 seconds. After that, there is no delay for subsequent pages that have the applet. This happens both on a LAN and going to your site.
The developer later wrote:
I found the culprit. It was our antivirus software.
I rebooted, disabled it, and then tested. The ListenUp applet loaded very fast. The AV software scans applets that are downloaded. After the initial download and scan the AV software must flag the applet as OK.
